Hey Tom,
I'd love that! Would you rather me sit in with you guys at 9 or at 10:30? Let me know. And what's the dress there? I wish I had known about this in May, I could have come by earlier in the summer and played with you. But Friday the 22nd will be fine. If you have anything else, like private parties etc. on which you might need a trumpet/flugelhorn player, let m,e know. Right now, I'm open for December holiday parties and for New Years, so let me know. I'll look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Take care and thanks.
John

Member Quotes About TGJN

Hi Tamm E!

I was just saying that you knocked this out of the park with TGJN. We have needed something like this for so long and I am telling my friends about this. I said that it is sort of like a myspace for jazz but it is actually so much more. This is real. The people here truly love jazz and we know people like that are not your average people.

I have felt for a long time that straight-ahead jazz has been slipping away from us. I have hope now that there will be a resurgence (or shall I say an insurgency:-) to bring this baby back full force!

You just knocked it out of the park. Thanks again.

xoxo,
Janie

Swagger Like Us: Thoughts on Women in Music, 2000-09

At the end of the '90s, I got excited when I realized that young girls no longer needed to hang out with creepy record-collector guys in order to find out about cool music. Doveman: Soft-Spoken But Upbeat

With the release of the 2005's The Acrobat, 2007's With My Left Hand I Raise the Dead and an album in which he covers the soundtrack to the '80s movie Footloose, Thomas Bartlett established Doveman as a true sleeper. His third album of original material with Doveman, The Conformist, is a testament to his soft-spoken style. This time around, though, he adds flourishes of upbeat synths, drums and catchy choruses.
