About Me:
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Everett Spruill graduated from Berea College, Kentucky in 1976 where he studied Business Management. Everett is most known for his early collages and works on paper, notably, the "Old School Jazz and Blues Series", which feature colorful mixed media collages of the fathers and legends of our own American art form….Jazz. For more than 20 years Everett Spruill, a self-taught artist, has been involved in collecting and creating works of art. Everett is also considered one of Central Florida’s biggest influences on African American Art. Exposed to museums and classical music at an early age would prove to have a great influence on Everett’s artistic development. "I really enjoyed mechanical drawing and wood working projects as a kid. I also had an ear for music so Mom insisted I have voice and piano lessons". Everett designed and created art for two of Walt Disney World’s Black Heritage Celebrations and currently conducts art workshops for Central Florida youth. Everett and his wife Mable currently live in Orlando Florida. Member Quotes About TGJN

Hi Tamm E!

I was just saying that you knocked this out of the park with TGJN. We have needed something like this for so long and I am telling my friends about this. I said that it is sort of like a myspace for jazz but it is actually so much more. This is real. The people here truly love jazz and we know people like that are not your average people.

I have felt for a long time that straight-ahead jazz has been slipping away from us. I have hope now that there will be a resurgence (or shall I say an insurgency:-) to bring this baby back full force!

You just knocked it out of the park. Thanks again.

xoxo,
Janie
