Well, I had to come back here after reading your comment on my page about the movie New Orleans...now is that amazing or what???

I have this movie in my home as I write this, a rental from Netflix and I will probably end up buying it. It is more complex in telling the story about Jazz than perhaps most realize...particularly when one looks at the ending. I could write a dissertation on that movie! I even learned the title song and have been singing it for my friends with pretty good reviews! ;-)

Now I am going to comb through the movie once again so I can see your friend Don Hill. When you see Mr. Hill again, please give him my best regards.

Artie,

Thanks for the friend request. I really am enjoying your page, you have a very rich history. How great you composed a tune for Mr. Sinatra and I have to tell you this story: Long ago when I first became an attorney back in Chicago I was heading to Las Vegas for the very first time for an ABA conference (I believe the year was 1990) when on the plane I suddenly had a strange thought. I thought to myself that the ONLY person I wanted to see in concert in Vegas was Frank Sinatra. I don't know why I thought that because at that point I didn't own one Sinatra record nor did I know if or when he might be playing in Vegas.

Anyhow, I was checking in at Bally's and when I saw a big sign that said...you guessed it...Sinatra was appearing there.

Seeing Sinatra live and in such a great venue will forever be a cherished memory...and I even had a front table! I had to be one of the youngest people in the audience and I was screaming like a Beatles fan from the '60s. I credit that experience for reigniting my passion for Jazz.

Best to you and it is great to have you as a Global Jazz Network friend.

Member Quotes About TGJN

Hi Tamm E!

I was just saying that you knocked this out of the park with TGJN. We have needed something like this for so long and I am telling my friends about this. I said that it is sort of like a myspace for jazz but it is actually so much more. This is real. The people here truly love jazz and we know people like that are not your average people.

I have felt for a long time that straight-ahead jazz has been slipping away from us. I have hope now that there will be a resurgence (or shall I say an insurgency:-) to bring this baby back full force!

You just knocked it out of the park. Thanks again.

xoxo,
Janie
